Practicing our Distinctives and Values…

We want to educate our children in robust theology for an education of excellence, using classical Christian methodology and curriculum, led by local leadership who are rooted and invested in the Cedar Valley. We believe that all truth is God's truth, regardless of where it is found, and want to learn about God and his world in an integrated, holistic manner.

Values

Truth

We believe the Bible is the inerrant Word of God and that we are under its authority. All truth comes from, belongs to, and points toward God and is cohesive and interrelated. Ultimately, we seek to gain a greater understanding of God through a life-long pursuit and passion for Truth and to live in light of it, and thereby bring him glory.

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16, 17

“‘You shall love the Lord you God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

Faith

We know that the first step in pleasing God is faith, and by faith we continue to follow him. We know that the Lord approves of endeavors carried out within his sovereign will. From him, we can expect full provision for his will to be met in his timing. We believe that faith gives us hope and saves us from the despair of a fallen world. We have faith in God’s provision and goodness for the school and all the lives that will be affected by it.

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” Hebrews 11:6

“What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Luke 18:27

Excellence

Excellence is our standard. We believe that everyone involved in Redeemer Classical Academy should strive toward it in all we do. Our promotion of high academics and hard work believes that any level of skill, practice, diligence and consistency over time result in excellence. We believe that although excellence is not always being the best, it is doing the best with what we are given.

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24.

Virtue

Godly character is the fruit that evidences the Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives. We seek to educate the hearts and minds of children, coupling knowledge with humility. We believe in accountability and Biblical discipline within the Body of Christ as a means of cultivating godly character.

In addition, classical education at its heart pursues virtue. These unchanging, timeless, essential issues and ideas transcend cultures and geography, and in fact, make us human. We embrace a classical curriculum, which fosters a love of learning and understanding.

“For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:5-8

Respect (Honor)

We believe a culture of respect and trust fosters learning and honors God. Our teachers treat students with respect, believing students are capable of learning and achieving excellent results. They also believe students are capable of reflective dialogue, critical reasoning, and engaging in meaningful interactions that promote a lifetime of learning. Teachers and students both hold fast to what is good and believe the best of one another. Students show respect for teachers, recognizing proper authority and that teachers are sharing with them their love of God, as well as love of their subjects and ideas.

“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12

Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Romans 12:9-11
